The 2012 Season is ready to START!!

Last I checked wasn’t it just Closing Day for the 2011 season? Now it is time to get things rolling for the 2012 Rodeo Baseball Season.

2012 is going to be a banner season for Rodeo Baseball and the main reason is that we have the BEST Board of Directors that I have seen since I have been involved with the RBA and that dates back to 2000. I am so privileged to get to work with such a charged up, high energy group of people who have a real sense of urgency. We are ready to take Rodeo Baseball to a new level of excellence with better communication with our parents and players as well as the community at large.

We are already down to our last Spring 2012 sign ups on December 17th. Now I know that you may be asking yourself “Why does RBA start sign ups so early in the year?” Well it is mainly due to the logistical issues that come along with trying to have everything ready by the time picture day rolls around on March 3rd. The earlier we have kids signed up the better indication we have for how many teams we will have and how many coaches we will need. This also helps us to have as many players as possible at our player evaluations in January that ensures that we fairly draft our teams. After the teams are drafted we need to have a uniform order in by the end of January so that they can be ready by early March. As you can see things progress rapidly so if we start signing up late it creates a greater margin of error for the rest of the season.

The East Bay Pony Region has expanded its boundries to include the following cities to be eligabale to play in RBA: Rodeo, Crockett, Vallejo, Hercules, Pinole, El Sobrante, San Pablo, Tormey, Port Costa, and Richmond.

RBA will continue its Mighty Mights program for 3-4 year old kids to start thier trek to becoming great youth baseball players.

RBA would like to thank the Kids and the Parents for keeping the 2011 season exciting and positive. There are new members to the board and we are all excited to start the 2012 season! I hope to have more voulenteers for next season year as well.

So in closing I am looking forward to the most positive and most memorable RBA season ever and I hope you are too.   See you at sign ups.

The Contact Us page on this web site has been utilized more than we imagined. I am encouraging all of you to use that page to make comments to help us improve the RBA or even vent a frustration. As long as contact information is given, no request will go unanswered. You can also contact us on

As you all know, RBA has joined forces with the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA). This is such a great tool for not only the coaches, but the parents as well. If you would like more information regarding the PCA program, please click on the PCA logo on the top of the page.
